Meet Tobey

Tobey Williamson is licensed to practice acupuncture and herbal medicine in Maine and Hawaii and is a Diplomate of Oriental Medicine (L.Ac. & Dipl. OM) certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. He earned a Masters of Science in Oriental Medicine from the Institute for Clinical Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in Honolulu's Chinatown.

Concurrent with his Master’s program, Tobey also completed a rigorous clinical apprenticeship under master acupuncturist, Dr. Chieko Maekawa, L.Ac., Ph.D., founder of the Seitai Shinpo Acupuncture Foundation. As a post-graduate, Certified Seitai Shinpo Acupuncturist (CSSAc) at Dr. Maekawa's Kona Clinic of Acupuncture, he continued to help patients heal from a variety of complex health concerns.  

Tobey's Mission: To help you rediscover what it feels like to move freely without pain and to know that your body is built to heal itself.

Having witnessed the profound, positive effects of Eastern Medical Arts in Hawaii, Tobey feels blessed to share the gifts his teacher, her teachers and their teachers back into antiquity have passed down for our benefit here in Maine.

Prior to becoming a licensed acupuncturist, Tobey focused his energy on improving the health of the relationships between people and the natural world. Renewable energy, ecologically inspired agriculture, sustainable community development, conflict resolution and a systems approach to management and decision-making continue to be fascinating to him.
